New Years Eve Resolutions

New Year’s Eve is just around the corner and like others and myself; I know that you are just now exploring your fashion options. New Year’s Eve is all about sparkle, the shine and of course that New Year’s resolution. Celebrating the New Year is a great excuse to transform your everyday style into a more glamorous, sophisticated look - while giving up those bad habits with the hope of getting new habits and wishes.

Follow these simple rules for a successful and prosperous evening and fantastic New year.

1.) Do Be Patient: Whether you are trying to in that perfect sparkle dress or that bling jewelry to bring out that simple black dress. Whether you are waiting to get in that hot New Years Eve party or simply trying to enforce your resolutions. ("GOOD THING COMES TO THOSE WHO WAIT" and "PATIENCE IS A VIRTUAL") Live by these two phrases and trust me you will have a prosperous New Year.www.RitzyVintage.com. www.RitzyVintage.com

2.)Do Be Respectful: Treat anyone assisting you or serving you, in any capacity with politeness and utmost respect. It is a holiday, and they no doubt would love to be with their friends at the dining table, on the other side of the bar or at the department store shopping for fabulous dress. Instead, they will be running themselves crazy to make a living in this economy. Therefore, it will not hurt you to be polite and respectful.

3.) Do Tip Well: Whether you are at the beauty shop, day spa, nail salon, restaurant or bar, do not forget to tip. The individuals that are serving you are not just doing a job that is trying to make sure you are happy and satisfied with their products, foods, drinks, and OVERALL service. If you are, having a bad day, excellent service means everything. This can help brighten up a patrons / clients day. So Tip Well! Because what you put out will come back to you tenfold. TRUST ME!

4.) Be Positive: Think positive about everything in life starting today. Know that you are going to lose weight; you are that Fashionista Diva, you are very successful, you are very prosperous and you have a successful relationship with everyone. Know that whatever you persistently and consistently put your positive mind to, it is yours, and no one can take that from you. Do not let anything negative, come out of your mouth or be written by you. As far as you are concern, you can do what you want and get what you want. Affirm to yourself everyday your New Year’s Resolution and your other wish. Watch as the days, months, and year go by you will be an entirely new person. As this starts too happy, please let me know. Please feel free to send me pics to post and tell me how you have started your New Years Eve's off or what you have done in the New Year.

HUGE TIP: CARMA! WHAT GOES AROUND, COMES AROUND! SO START YOUR NEW YEARS EVE OUT RIGHT! SO, HAPPY NEW YEARS!

How To Clean Jewelry With Household Products

Hand Sanitizer! Yes, I said it. Hand Sanitizer! I usually get my jewelry cleaned at CD Peacock by my jeweler. However, since its cold outside I decided to become lazy and do-it-myself. I looked around for all the traditional household products that I was told that works, such as Alka-seltzer tablets, Ammonia, Oxi-Clean, liquid detergent etc... What I did have on my bathroom sink was some hand sanitizer, so of course I USED IT. To my surprise, it was fabulous on my jewelry; I got so jewelry cleaning happy. My silly self started cleaning all my jewelry including the costume jewelry, which is plated and metal.

Wow! It worked so good I felt like; my jewelry was worth a million dollars, because it was blinging all over the sink. Now! I have to say I do not suggest you use any hand sanitizer, as some are much stronger than others are. However, I purchased mines from online at www.ItsCleanUSA.com. I am quite sure you can purchase it from Walgreens or your local drug store. I guess what makes them different from other companies, is there sanitizer is bio-based-so it is not going to affect anything, with the exception of clean everything. LOL

My Instructions are very SIMPLE:

1.) Apply Sanitizer on jewelry pieces
two.) Gently place your selected pieces into warm water
3.) Gently move bowl in a circular motion for about 10 seconds
4.) Let jewelry sit for up to 5 minutes
5.) Rinse with warm water
6.) Pat dry with a soft cloth
7.) You are done - YOUR JEWELRY LOOKS NEW AS IF IT'S BEEN LASERED CLEANED

She was also one of the founders of the National Association for Colored Women (NACW) and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).

Ida B. Wells became an international figure who fought for equality of African Americans and women throughout her entire lifetime. She died almost 80 years ago in 1931, but her words and passion live on."

“I feel compelled to make her writings available for today’s public and ensure that Ida B. Wells will become more well-known for the incredible contributions she made to this country.”

"Ask Ritzy" Advice or Opinion

Hey! Everybody, We here at Ritzy Couture Vintage Jewelry has decided to add something new to the blog and that is "Ask Ritzy". If you have a question, concern or need advice about fashion, finances or relationships; Send us an email to EbonieCaldwell@RitzyVintage.com. We will post your email with a reply on our blog. Every reader or blogger who sends us an email is automatically be entered in our monthly contest. On yesterday we actual received our first email for "Ask Ritzy" - here is what our reader told us.

I met a guy two months ago at a bar in Long Island, we communicated often, via text the majority of the time. When we’d text, it would be fun and flirty… but sometimes his text are very short. We finally went oout on a first date about a month ago, it felt like I knew him for a long time. It was great! Since then, however, I’ve only heard from him ONCE and of course it was via the damn text - over the course of that entire month. While I wanted to prove a point and not respond at all, the majority of my friends urged me to text back. So, I waited over a day to respond and ended up writing something cute but also very neutral. And he hasn’t responded! Why would a guy text me, out of the blue, and then not respond?
-I AM CONFUSED-

Dear Ms. Confused,

He was bored! That is the reason he text you for the heck of it. This guy did not have anything to do and unfortunately he is not in to you. My guess would be it was exciting for him to get to know you at the time (considering you did meet him at the bar, while drinking). However he is a guy who enjoys having random hookup every now and then. You said it yourself; it’s been mostly “fun and flirty.” If that’s something you think you can enjoy then keep going. But if you’re looking for the time, attention and companionship, instead of a "ONE NIGHT TEXT STAND", then you need to look elsewhere. Him texting you all the time when he finally do respond is so not personable and disrescpectfu. Because at what point can you two have a conversation via strictly texting to get to know about each other. IMPOSSIBLE!!!!!! Baby girl do not waste your time and keep it moving. SWEEP THE TRASH UNDER THE RUG and NEXT!!!!Match.com

How To Prepare The Perfect Holiday Party

1.)Realistically think about your holiday budget (After you have deducted your gifts and/or traveling money)

2.)Carefully sit down and think about hom many guest you are inviting

3.)You can stock up on the basic ingredients at the beginning of the holiday season.

4.) Prepare Serving Dishes. Don’t waste valuable time on the day of the event trying to remember where you’ve stashed the holiday platters, plates, stemware, serving spoons, and linens. Plan out what dishes you’ll use, and clean and polish them a few days in advance. For sit-down dinners, you can set the table ahead of time. For cocktail parties, lay serving dishes and napkins out for snacks the day before.

5.) Plan on a Realistic Amount of Food and Drink. Don’t make enough food to feed the the NBA (unless you’re feeding the NBA) A rule of thumb for a three hour holiday party is about three drinks per person, or about one bottle of wine for every two to three guests and one quart of liquor for every 10 to 12 guests. For hors d’oeuvres plan on about three to five pieces per person, and for a three hour holiday party, about four to six pieces per person per hour.

6.) Spirits - The basics—wine, sparkling wine, distinctive beers, or a couple of types of spirits and a few mixers—are fine. A great holiday house cocktail is nice. Remember to always have water and juice choices available, and don’t forget the ice.

7.) Decorations - Plan your Christmas party decor around a theme or a seasonal color scheme. Choose anything from Santa to snowmen, music to angels. Find some other ideas for holiday theme ideas. Red, white, green, gold, and silver are traditional holiday colors. Use just one color or combine several for your decorations. But if you're planning ahead, design your party invitation after you've chosen your theme. Create an invitation that your guests will really remember.

8.) Make your party a great conversation; Consider wrapping your front door with Christmas gift wrapping paper with a giat bow around the door. Don't forget a beautiful wreath. To add a holiday touch to every room in your home, tie bows on everything from candlesticks to doorknobs. To add a festive look everywhere, sprinkle glitter or imitation snow on every surface you can see. Lamp candles on table tops, bathroom countertops, serving table, dining table and any unused surface has a rich and great touch.

9.)Appetizers and hor doeuvres - I think the best 2 things you can do is either get your party catered (depending on your budget) Or have a couple of your closet friends to prepare one or two of there favorit holiday dishes. You will be surprise what you dearest girlfriends would'nt mine doing to assist.

10. Clean as You Go. Don’t make guests feel like you’re tidying up because the party’s over. Instead, try to grab crumpled napkins, toothpicks and plates on your way to the kitchen. A little cleaning here and there will ease postparty cleanup, but don’t obsess over every dish in the sink.

Mandatory *** Be sure to have holiday music playing in the background. Try a few of these upbeat Christmas tunes:

Here Comes Santa Claus

Up on the Housetop

Deck the Halls

I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus

Jingle Bell Rock

Grandma Got Ran Over By a Reindeer

Jingle Bells

Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer

Santa Claus is Coming to Town

The Twelve Days of Christmas

We Wish you a Merry Christmas

Rockin Around the Christmas Tree

Once your guests hear these Christmas favorites, they may start a sing-along!

Whatever you do dont forget to wear a great dress with the perfect accessories.

How To Accessorize Shawls

Well ladies the winter has finally arrived. Dressing for the cold, we have all adjusted to it, but of course, we have to remain looking FABULOUS. However, showing off your style and personality while staying warm can be a challenge. After all, it is tough to see your outfit when covered up by coat. What does a fashionista suppose to do?

There are many ways to dress so you can stay warm and still show off your RITZY fashion sense, and none of them requires breaking the bank.

Here are some tips for braving the cold and still looking hot:

1.) Invest in a classic and stylish coat or shawl.

Your outerwear is the most important part of your winter wardrobe, so invest in a fabulous piece that will last you many years. If you just want something classic that will not go out of style, I personally recommend a Shawl, Pea Coat or Swing Coat. A good quality wool shawl or coat will stand last you a lifetime and keep you warm.

Add interest to your winter look accessorizing your outerwear and showing off your funky style

Product Information: Leather Gloves, Plaid Burberry Shawl, Oversized Belt, and Brooch. (Brooch can be purchased at www.RitzyVintage.com)

Accessorizing is not just for regular outfits – you can (and should) accessorize your outerwear as well! Bright scarves, cute hats, and colorful gloves are your best friends during the winter months. Even better, they are so cheap that there is no reason not to buy a bunch in different colors.

Remember that being a warm fashionista is still the most important thing.

Make sure that when you rock that shawl or coat, you are staying warm. If it does not keep you warm, it is not doing the job. That is why it’s crucial to spend a little more money on a quality outerwear, in which it will keep you toasty instead of going for a cheap fashionable jacket.

Minx Manicures

Minx nails is the latest trends in Hollywood and the fashion magazines. They are quickly applied by a professional and designed to be a true conversation piece! These metallic, film appliqués give nails a sleek, mirror-finish. The top coat is a shiny that is cut to fit the shape of your nails. This manicure does not require a top overcoat your nails are applied under a heat bed / heat lamp. The he heat gives film the conformability to fit over the compound curves of nails and seals it onto the nail. Some nail spa's and nail shops consider this technique to be the no chip manicure, with the exception of the fact that it has a gorgeous metallic shine.

These nails are amazing if you are a performer, a fashionista or going to an event.
Prices vary between $30-85 for a MINX manicure. It is a bit more expensive than a nail polish manicure, but you get fabulous nails that last two - three weeks longer than your traditional dull manicure. Minx nails last about two weeks Minx has a waterproof seal that will not release until the seal is broken. Once the seal is broken usually after two weeks they begin to chip.

Final Verdict?
Overall, they are a MUST! Minx has been featured in Glamour magazine. Some of the celebrities that wear Minx nails are Zoe Kravitz (Lenny Kravitz Daughter)Beyonce, Eve Lady Ga Ga, Katie Perry, Mariah Carey, Halle Berry, Rihanna and More...

MINX nails are a cool, fun, and provocative way to express your personality, like fashion for your nails!
